Summary

Dyson V6 Absolute shines for everyday cleaning on carpets and hardwood, with powerful pet hair pickup and cordless convenience. However, limited battery life, especially on turbo mode, and a small dustbin require frequent attention for larger tasks.

4.4

Ideal for

  • Ideal for pet owners needing an effective solution for pet hair removal.
  • Suitable for homes with both carpet and hardwood floors.
  • Perfect for those seeking a lightweight, cordless vacuum for quick and easy cleanups.

Considerations

  • Relatively short battery life, especially in turbo mode, for larger cleaning tasks.
  • Keep in mind the small dustbin capacity, requiring frequent emptying during extensive cleaning sessions.

Our Experience

Highlight:

This cordless vacuum has powerful suction, lightweight design, and filtration system.

Why we liked it:

Dyson V6 Absolute Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner is quite convenient for cleaning carpets and hardwood floors. The cordless design enables us to move effortlessly throughout our home, tackling pet hair with ease. The soft roller attachment is especially useful for hardwood floors.

However, we did notice a few drawbacks. The battery has a relatively limited life, lasting about two and a half years before needing replacement. Additionally, the battery life on turbo setting lasts only around 6 to 7 minutes which can be insufficient for larger cleaning tasks. The vacuum’s dustbin is also on the smaller side, requiring frequent emptying.

Even with these shortcomings, we still think that the Dyson V6 Absolute is an exceptional vacuum for everyday purposes. It may take a little extra time to clean larger areas or deal with pet hair, but its performance is still impressive for such a compact device.

Who should use it:

The Dyson V6 Absolute is best suited for individuals in smaller homes or apartments with pets, who need a lightweight and versatile vacuum for quick daily cleanups on various surfaces.

Price and Value

In our experience with the Dyson V6 Absolute, it offers good value for the price. Its performance on both carpets and hardwood floors is impressive, and we consider it to be a worthwhile investment despite some concerns about battery life.

Cleaning Performance

We can attest to the cleaning efficiency of this cordless stick vacuum cleaner. It effectively picks up debris and pet hair on various surfaces thanks to its powerful suction and roller attachments.

The cleaning results were impressive, although the battery might require frequent recharging during extended cleaning sessions.

Filtration System

The Dyson V6 Absolute is equipped with a HEPA filtration system, which is a noteworthy feature. This system efficiently captures allergens and expels cleaner air, making it friendly for users with dust allergies or asthma.

Maintenance and Care

Maintaining this vacuum is relatively simple, and emptying the dust bin was straightforward.

However, the bin is on the smaller side, so it might require frequent emptying, especially during heavier cleaning tasks.

Additionally, the filters are washable, which ultimately helps prolong the vacuum’s life and save on extra expenses.

Battery Life and Power Usage

We did experience some concerns regarding the battery life of the Dyson V6 Absolute.

On the turbo setting, the battery only lasts for about 6 or 7 minutes, which might require multiple charges for larger cleaning jobs. Being aware of this limitation before purchasing the unit is essential to avoid dissatisfaction.

Attachments and Accessories

This vacuum comes with a variety of attachments for different cleaning tasks, including a soft roller for hardwood floors. The attachments are easy to interchange and worked well for different cleaning scenarios, enhancing the overall versatility.

Weight and Maneuverability

One of the standout features of this vacuum is its lightweight design, making it easy to carry and maneuver around the house. It is exceptionally user-friendly, allowing us to easily tackle hard-to-reach spots and clean various surfaces with minimal effort.

Noise Level

The noise level for the Dyson V6 Absolute is reasonable for a vacuum cleaner. It does not produce an excessive amount of noise during operation, allowing for a reasonably quiet cleaning experience.

Customer Reviews – What the Public Thought

“We were amazed at how much it picked up from what we thought were clean floors! The absolute is light, easy to handle, and comes with a dual HEPA filter. I usually have to leave the house while my wife vacuums due to allergies, but I can do the vacuuming myself with the V6 with no problems at all.”

Our Verdict

The Dyson V6 Absolute Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner excels in its ease of use and effectiveness, particularly for pet owners and those with mixed flooring. Its cordless design and soft roller attachment make it a breeze to navigate around the home, seamlessly transitioning from carpets to hardwood floors.

However, it’s worth noting the limited battery life, especially in turbo mode, and the small dustbin that requires frequent emptying. Although the battery may need replacing after a couple of years, the vacuum’s overall performance and convenience make it a solid choice for everyday cleaning, especially in smaller living spaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve gathered the most popular questions and answered them below.

The Dyson V6 Absolute was first released in 2015, making it around 8 years old at the time of writing. Despite its age, it is still regarded as a reliable and efficient cordless stick vacuum cleaner.

The main difference of the two is that the V6 Absolute comes with a soft roller cleaner head, which is gentle on hard floors while removing large debris and fine dust simultaneously. The V6 Total Clean, on the other hand, features a different combination of attachments and accessories, including a mini motorized tool and a soft dusting brush. Additionally, the V6 Total Clean may be harder to find, as it may be a limited or region-specific release.

Based on our experience and customer reviews, the Dyson V6 Absolute should last for about 2 to 3 years before the battery might start having issues holding a charge. Some users have reported needing to replace the battery after 2.5 years. However, it’s important to note that the product comes with a 2-year warranty on parts and labor, which is automatically activated upon purchase. The vacuum itself is well-built and can potentially last even longer with care and proper maintenance.
